Witty ways to get your kids to read over summer break

Summer break is a time for kids to relax and have fun. But it's also a great opportunity for them to read more books! So here are some witty ways to get your kids to read over the summer.

If you tell your kids they have to read a certain number of books over the summer, they're likely to groan and complain. But if you make it into a game, they'll be more likely to get excited about it. For example, you could have a reading race where the first person to finish a book receives a prize. Or you could keep track of how many books everyone reads and award points for every book. The person with the most points at the end of summer wins a prize.

Another way to get your kids to read over summer break is to take them to the library or bookstore regularly. Let them pick out their own books, so they're more likely to be interested in reading them. And make sure to read yourself! Set a good example for your kids by showing them how much fun reading can be. Consider starting a family book club. The summer our family is reading A Wrinkle in Time.

Happy reading!
